Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Responding to medical emergencies in a timely manner is why helicopter medical evacuation has become an essential service that most hospitals rely on today. Being able to manage the fleet location and arrival of air medical staff in the most efficient way can be the difference between life and death. Furthermore, ground assets such as ambulances or first responders can see air asset movement and know the time of arrival to be able to make informed decisions. Aircrew are often required to directly communicate via voice to ground emergency medical staff to get as much detail of the emergency as possible. Most EMS air services are now mandated to use the voice services GMI can provide.
